Gary what are you waiting for? Schedule and prepare for the first of many trips back to NL.
Go online and you can stream Dutch radio stations to pick up the language again. If that is not fast enough, then get Rosetta Stone and learn it again with the family. THEN....drum roll please......
Rent a car and take the two oldest kids with you on the first trip.
Four years from that...take the two youngest kids.
If you rent a car, then you don't have to be the tourist...you can go as a regular person.
It doesn't have to be a pipe dream. You can do this on a regular basis. Do you still have contact with your host family? Get acquainted again, they probably have wonderful memories of you too to share.
