The Direct Consular Filing (DCF)
Introduction There are different ways to get a visa, one of them is DCF or Direct Consular Filing at the Consulate in Amsterdam.
To do the DCF you have to be married. In the US , The Netherlands or any
other country but is has to be a valid marriage.
(Quoted from the Consular website) "Petitioners who want to file with this office must be residents of the Netherlands, the exception being petitioners who have come to the Netherlands to marry their Dutch citizen or resident fiancé(e) and plan to go back to the U.S. as soon as possible." The Consulate will also accept petitioners who are already married to their Dutch citizen. You and your spouse need to appear at the Consulate in Amsterdam. Only the US citizen can file the petition (I-130) (If you also bring children they have to be there too) The US citizen is the petitioner and the Dutch citizen is the applicant. Be aware that the consulate does not talk about DCF but talks about the marriage based visa. DCF is a internet based invented name. The immigration laws of the United States, in order to
protect the health, welfare, and security of the United States, prohibit the
issuance of a visa to certain applicants.
