Alweer een cursus

Vandaag weer in de klas. Nu voor een leuke cursus Frontpage. Hier leer ik formulieren maken voor website gebruik. Deze cursus kreeg ik gratis omdat ik een klacht had over een eerder gevolgde cursus. Is dus niet echt voor m’n werk maar wel een leuke cursus. Nou kan ik tenminste een mooi formulier leren maken voor Blips of alle andere websites die ik ontwerp. Gratis yeeehaaaa.

Oude Pekela krijgt hangplek voor ouderen

OUDE PEKELA - De rondhangende ouderen in Oude Pekela krijgen toch een eigen hangplek. In het plaatselijke winkelcentrum mogen zij vanaf april bijeenkomen. Ongeveer een jaar geleden kregen ze een samenscholingsverbod omdat ze met rollators en scootmobielen het winkelend publiek in de weg liepen.

Straling
Recent onderzoek van de Amerikaanse Carnegie Mellon Universiteit heeft uitgewezen dat straling van mobiele telefoons, laptops en andere elektronische apparaten de vliegtuiginstrumenten kunnen storen. De Amerikaanse autoriteiten lieten onlangs weten geen bezwaar te hebben als reizigers tijdens een vlucht mobiel bellen.
Ik ben de draad kwijt en weet niet of je nou wel of niet je gsm mag gebruiken in een vliegtuig.

Up your ass
Vanwege mijn jeugdige leeftijd was ik aan de beurt voor een Colonoscopy. Een via de achterdeur inspectie. Nou dat stelde geen reet voor. Een rubber slang via je anus. Het is geheel pijnloos op wat krampen na een een hoop gas achteraf. Zelf voor je infuus verdoven ze je nog. De hele procedure duurt 10-15 minuten en je kon het beeld zelf ook zien, was best wel aardig om dat te zien trouwens. Het ergste is de voor bereiding, de dag ervoor moet je een laxeermiddel drinken en liters (In mijn geval galons) vloeibaar zoals water en softdrinks. Je zit vervolgens uren op de pot met diaree. De volgende morgen moet je dat nog eens herhalen en je poepgaatje voelt dan al behoorlijk schraal aan. Na de procedure kun je dan eindelijk weer eten en koffie drinken. Was er toen wel weer aan toe. Ok over 10 jaar de herhaling in. En nee ik heb er geen video van maar wel een plaatje zoals het eruit ziet op de monitor.
Aanvulling: Dit onderzoek wordt volledig betaald door de verzekering en is een standaard preventief onderzoek aanbevolen door de kanker bestrijdings organisaties in de USA voor mensen van mijn leeftijd.

Eindelijk is het dan zover. Nadat ik het had opgezet enkele weken geleden is nu de eerste post verschenen op dit nieuwe weblog. De hele familie weet nu over wie ik het heb. Ga snel naar haar weblog en geef commentaar op haar eerste echte post in de blogosphere. Wel in het Engels omdat ze de Nederlandse taal (nog) niet kent. Ze is trouwens helemaal weg van het thema dat ik voor haar gekozen heb.

Men neme 2 alledaagse meiden die zich "modern" kleden, een grote bek hebben, denken dat ze leuk zijn en de mannelijke geek nadoen en "cool" acteren. Je laat ze dan kleine showtjes opvoeren met ingestudeerde teksten, zet het op video en dan op het web. Nee Microsoft ik denk dat dit niet de manier is om je producten te verkopen. Ik ben er misschien te oud voor en ben niet "geek" genoeg om dit leuk te vinden. Where do you want to be geek today?

Aan de andere kant is het wel weer een signaal dat videobloggen de toekomst heeft. Misschien moet ook dit product nog groeien. Ik zal er meer over melden als het echt iets gaat worden.

Racy Dutch video part of new immigration test
Applicants told they must accept liberal culture

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands — The camera focuses on two gay men kissing in a park. Later, a topless woman emerges from the sea and walks onto a crowded beach. For would-be immigrants to the Netherlands, this film is a test of their readiness to participate in liberal Dutch culture.
If they can’t stomach it, no need to apply.
Despite whether they find the film offensive, applicants must buy a copy and watch it if they hope to pass the Netherlands’ new entrance examination.
The test — the first of its kind in the world — became compulsory Wednesday and was made available at 138 Dutch embassies.
Taking the exam costs $420. The price for a preparation package that includes the film, a CD-ROM and a picture album of famous Dutch people is $75.
"As of today, immigrants wishing to settle in the Netherlands for, in particular, the purposes of marrying or forming a relationship will be required to take the civic integration examination abroad," the Immigration Ministry said in a statement.
The test is part of a broader crackdown on immigration that has been gathering momentum in the Netherlands since 2001.
Anti-immigration sentiment peaked with filmmaker Theo van Gogh’s murder by a Dutch national of Moroccan descent in November 2004.
Both praise and scorn have been poured on Immigration Minister Rita Verdonk, the architect of the new test and other policies that have reduced immigration by at least a third.
"If you pass, you’re more than welcome," Verdonk said. "It is in the interest of Dutch society and those concerned."
Not everyone is happy with the new test.
"Today is a black day for the people intending to bring their partners to Holland," said Buitenlandse Partner, a lobbying group for mixed Dutch/immigrant couples.
Dutch theologian Karel Steenbrink criticized the 105-minute movie, saying it would be offensive to some Muslims.
"It is not a prudent way of welcoming people to the Netherlands," said Steenbrink, a professor at the University of Utrecht. "Minister Verdonk has radical ideas."
But Mohammed Sini, the chairman of Islam and Citizenship, a national Muslim organization, defended the film, saying that homosexuality is "a reality."
Sini urged all immigrants "to embrace modernity."
A censored version with no homosexual and nude material had been prepared because it is illegal to show such images in Iran and some other countries, filmmaker Walter Goverde said.
"With all the respect I have for all religions, I think people need to understand that Holland has its own liberal side as well," he said.
