Balletje meppen

I got up early this morning and went back to the Golf Course. I was there by a little after 7:00 and they immediately paired with a gentleman getting ready to go off the first tee. I didn’t get by with using my twi-light rain check - I did have to pay the extra $8 - oh well. So I had to tee off with no warm-up at all (but that still didn’t stop Mr. Stubborn from playing the back tees). At least this time, my playing partner, Jim, had sense enough to play his regular tees.It was a relatively short course at 6,711 yards from the tips, but that was a bit misleading as it had several short shot-making par 4s along with some very long ones. The first four holes I could not hit driver and then the fifth and sixth holes were long par fives. This course was every bit as nice, if not more so, as the last one at Rarity Bay. But it was a bit more difficult and I took a couple of big numbers and shot 85. Still pretty good for me on a course I had never seen. Plus, Jim and I played in about three hours and I was back home by 10:30 am.
Dit stukje las ik in een log die ik wel vaker lees. Voor mij is het geheel buitenlands Engels (kan dat wel?). De schrijver is een vervente golf liefhebber. Ik weet niet wat het is met die sporten hier, ik snap er geen bal (in dit geval balletje) van. Wel ontdek ik waarom ik het niet snap, het interesseert me geen ene moer dus zal ik het denk ik ook nooit snappen, prima hoor, er zijn genoeg andere leuke dingen.

Nou dan ben ik net als jij; ik snap er geen balvan en het interreseert me geen bal en net als jj heb ik ook geen bal gevoel voor de bal!
